              Tips for the Best Results

              • Use room temperature or softened cream cheese to ensure the dough comes together smoothly.
              • Make sure your Oreo crumbs are finely ground by using a food processor. If you don’t have one, place Oreos in a freezer bag and crush them with a rolling pin until they are fine crumbs.
              • For smooth, round balls, use a cookie scoop to evenly portion out the dough before rolling it between the palms of your hands.
              • Be sure to freeze the Oreo balls for at least 10-15 minutes before dipping them in the green candy melts. This helps them hold their shape during coating.
              • When melting the candy melts in the microwave, use 30 second intervals and stir in between to prevent burning.
              • Make sure to add the red heart sprinkles immediately after dipping the Oreo balls, as the melted candy will harden quickly.

              Substitutions and Variations

              • Swap out the classic Oreos for golden Oreos or red velvet Oreos to add variety to your Grinch Christmas truffles.
              • If you don’t have green candy melts, you can use white chocolate chips mixed with a few drops of green food coloring.
              • Customize the flavor by adding a teaspoon of your favorite extract, like peppermint or almond, into the Oreo mixture before forming the dough balls.
